S.P.G

What is S.P.G ?
S.P.G., meaning "Selective Potential Gear", is a mechanic where you designate either the beginning, middle, or end of your character's health bar to serve as an S.P.G. zone. These S.P.G. settings are referred to as Accel Ratio, Flux Ratio, and Final Ratio respectively.
While the health bar is within the designated S.P.G. range, several bonuses are activated:
- Attack Damage is increased by 10%
- Incoming damage is reduced by 10%/20%/30% for Accel/Flux/Final Ratio, respectively
- Reduced REV Gauge costs from using REV Arts, REV Accel, REV Blow, and Guard Cancel (discount depends on S.P.G. Ratio)
- REV Blow and Hidden Gear are exclusively accessible while in S.P.G.
When the character's health leaves the designated S.P.G. zone, S.P.G. and its benefits deactivate.
The effect S.P.G state has on the REV Gauge and damage taken changes depending on where you set the S.P.G. Ratio.
Accel Ratio has no REV Gauge discounts and minimal damage reduction, but S.P.G. and its benefits will immediately activate at the beginning of the round.
Flux Ratio is a flexible middle ground between Accel Ratio and Final Ratio with a small REV Gauge discount and moderate damage reduction.
Final Ratio provides the strongest buffs, as it applies a higher REV action discount than Flux Ratio and has the most damage reduction. However, it only activates when the character's health gauge is nearly empty, adding an element of risk to Final Ratio.
Choosing where to activate S.P.G. offers a strategic wrinkle to each match. Do you want to activate S.P.G. immediately and go for broke, or would you prefer to use it as a failsafe if your health gets low? The choice is up to you—and you might even find it depends on the character you're using—but it's important to weigh the options before deciding.
