B. Jenet overview & gameplay guide

Armed with great mobility, surprising reach, and great pressure options, Jenet’s deep bag of tricks is full of ways to frustrate her opponent and stay one step ahead at all times.

Jenet’s biggest strength in this game is that she can be quite unpredictable, especially in neutral. She comes armed with a suite of excellent poking normals that can be cancelled into quick, safe options like Crazy Ivan (214P), or slower options that are plus on block, letting Jenet keep her offense going; a decent hit off of many of these can lead to a big combo that quickly corners her opponent and lets her push her strong pressure game. If staying grounded isn’t enough to open up an opponent, Jenet can also assault her opponent from the air, with moves like her divekick (j.6B), Harrier Bee (j.2K) and an air throw.

Although she no longer has an invincible reversal other than her supers, Jenet is decent on defense even without it. The Hind (236B) is a solid anti-air, Secret Mademoiselle (623P) can break frame traps with a good read, and a cancellable backdash lets her stuff throw attempts. When in S.P.G., Jenet gains access to her fast and incredibly obnoxious REV Blow, which is much faster than other characters and quickly turns the tide of battle in her favor. Being able to Guard Cancel into many of these means she doesn’t have quite as much trouble fighting her way out of pressure as some other characters.

Jenet does have her flaws, such as a heavy reliance on S.P.G. and underwhelming damage without resources, but she’s never truly out of options in any situation. She’s a great character for players who like having a swath of options to sow chaos on the screen.
